Some people think that groups of humans can only work efficiently if there is one person who clearly has all the power. And then they believe it's essential that that person hides whatever flaws they have. Because otherwise people will think that maybe they don't deserve to have all the power and may try to overthrow them.

Perhaps this is actually as unpleasant for Knut though as it is for Firebird. I wouldn't know. Anyway I don't mean to demonize him. I think these tendencies are present in most people.
